Door: Edwin van het Bolscher, 29 juli 2021 Amsterdam - As a VFX Supervisor, you are responsible for leading a team of Digital Compositors and CG Artists. Collaborating with the Producer, Director and Director of Photography, you are a key to delivering high-end VFX for films, series and TVCs.
Guide and deliver VFX projects from conception through to completion.
Achieving and managing the creative goals of clients.
Working alongside our in-house producers, being able to find the right VFX solution best suited for projects of varying scales and scopes.
Pilot a team of artists to create and deliver high-end work.
Act as a partner to in-house producers and the VFX coordinator, keeping them informed of progress, changes, roadblocks and other critical issues.
Efficient use of resources, taking the initiative to resolve pipeline issues by researching, identifying and implementing solutions designed to streamline the art process and enhance productivity within the studio.
Breaking down scripts and working with producers and CG Supervisors in bidding.
Being a role model within the VFX department.
5+ years of experience in the VFX industry.
Experience leading a team of artists in a production environment with the ability to adjust approaches and techniques based on episodic TV, streaming and/or film expectations.
Excellent planning, negotiating, communicating and leadership skills.
Being able to formulate detailed, clear creative and technical feedback to artists.
Experience with on-set supervision, script breakdown, and bidding.
Expert in industry-standard software packages such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke and ShotGrid. A thorough understanding of the CG & 2D principles and pipeline is essential.
Strong understanding of directory structure, file formats, naming conventions, scripts and automation tools.
Able to manage several projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
